Topic: iredmail pro some problems/questions

Hello,

Just installed iRedMail Pro LDAP for migration my existing mail server running postfix.

I have really huge amount of boxes/activity (migrating 25 000 mailboxes)

I have couple questions regarding iRedAdmin PRO.

1. How can I cluster iRedMail installation and do I need to purchase additional license?

Not I run mail in following configuration:

Mail server - iredos installation
Storage - iSCSI storage for mailboxes (only mailbox currently /var/vmail/)

Is there any manual or ideas of clustering Mail server?

I have read in success stories that some customers run clustered installations.

2. I can't see mailbox usage in iRedAdmin Pro, everywhere I see 0 bites used. In webmail mailbox usage statistics is displayed successfully.

3. When I enable debug in settings.ini  in iredadmin pro where does debug log is written to?

You can setup Heartbeat or Red Hat Cluster Suite for cluster.

iRedMail doesn't achieve cluster by default, you have to configure it manually.

2. I can't see mailbox usage in iRedAdmin Pro, everywhere I see 0 bites used.

iRedOS-0.6.0 ships iRedMail-0.6.0, it doesn't store real-time mailbox quota usage in MySQL, so it can't display it correctly.
You should:
1) Upgrade dovecot-1.1.x (default version in iRedOS) to 1.2.x by following this tutorial: http://www.iredmail.org/wiki/index.php? … 1.1.to.1.2
2) Configure dovecot-1.2 to store real-time quota usage in MySQL by following this tutorial: http://www.iredmail.org/wiki/index.php? … a.In.MySQL

3. When I enable debug in settings.ini  in iredadmin pro where does debug log is written to?

When it got a "Internal Server Error", it will display an error page with many details instead of a page with 3 words: "Internal Server Error".

Warning: Do **NOT** enable debug in production server, it might leak some sensitive information in error page.

Re: iredmail pro some problems/questions

P.S. If you want to install the latest iRedMail in the easiest way, try this instead of iRedOS:
http://www.iredmail.org/forum/topic1890 … sting.html

It will always install the latest iRedMail for you.

2) Configure dovecot-1.2 to store real-time quota usage in MySQL by following this tutorial: http://www.iredmail.org/wiki/index.php? … a.In.MySQL

I have done this step and now quotas are displayed. But only for users who had accessed their webmail/mail program.

Can I do something to generate quota in db for all my active users?

Re: iredmail pro some problems/questions

Quota stored in MySQL will be updated automatically when users access their mailboxes via POP3 or IMAP.

Re: iredmail pro some problems/questions

1 more questions:

I run free mail system (free registration and access via webmail) and I need to allow only webmail (my webmail) to access mailbox, ie no SMTP/IMAP/POP3 access to mailbox, only WEBMAIL.

So I need to restrict access to some mailboxes (on the server I have accounts what should have SMTP/POP/IMAP access, so just closing corresponding ports is not solution for me )

I tried to realize it via Dovecot acl but unsuccessfully. Can you advice any solution or help me with dovecot acl?

Re: iredmail pro some problems/questions

Try this:

*) Enable only imap, imaps, managesieve in dovecot.conf. (it should be /etc/dovecot.conf on RHEL/CentOS).

protocols = imap imaps managesieve

Note: managesieve is used for users to custom mail filter rules.

*) REJECT all access to POP3/POP3S/IMAP/IMAPS/MANAGESIEVE from external network in iptables.

You can find a pre-defined iptables rule file in /etc/sysconfig/iptables on RHEL/CentOS, remove related ports in it, restart iptables service, that's all.

Re: iredmail pro some problems/questions

Hello,

I successfully upgraded to 1.5.0 without problems but i noticed that in admin panel "Last Signed In" is not set nor in new 1.5.0 not in old 1.4.1.

Do I need some additional configuration for this feature to become available? (like quota)

If yes please let me know that I should do. smile

This requires dovecot post-login tracking.
