Hi

I have a customer with 3 email accounts on his domain. We allow 6GB per domain. One of his accounts (manager@) has 2.96GB of mail, and he was running low on another account (info@), so he has set manager@ to only 1MB, even though it has almost 3GB of emails in the mailbox) and increased the info@ mailbox to almost 6GB effectively meaning that they can take up 8.9GB of space by technically disabling manager@ (set to 1MB so it won't receive any further mail)

Is there any way to stop this currently?

Re: Allowing Users to set Quota to less than Mailbox Size

Do you want to limit to current mailbox size? If mailbox is now 2.85GB, then mailbox size cannot be set to lower than 2.85GB?

It appears they have set the mailbox for manager@ to 1MB (see screenshot), and were then allowed to set the info@ account to almost 6GB as iredmail just looks at the allocated space, not the actual space I assume?

I don't believe they should be able to set a 2.85GB mailbox to less than 2.85GB.

I understand what you mean.
Do you want to disallow admin to set quota lower than actually mailbox size?

Yes, that would be preferred. Otherwise, they would be able to manipulate the mailboxes to exceed their 6GB of allowed space.

Request accepted. Will try to implement this in next iRedAdmin-Pro release: disallow domain admin to set mailbox quota size lower than mailbox size. Note: global admin can do this as usual.

Awesome. Thank You.
