Topic: Freebsd 8.2 Jail iRedMail install (was blank page)

When I go to the mail home page, all I get is "It Works". Then going to /mail, /ldap, etc I get blank pages. /awstats does ask for a password, but doesn't accept the username/password combo in iRedMail.tips.

This is freebsd 8.2.

A couple of ports needed to be separately installed when the iredmail script stalled.

Wondering where to go from here. Is there some other place for the document root?

Any error log in apache?
It's better to paste related error log here.

Unfortunately, there are so many errors, it would be hard to even start to assess.

My main question is, where is index.php supposed to be? All I see is index.html and that is essentially empty (/usr/local/www/apache22/data/). Where is the root for the website in the freebsd filesystem?

Also, what is the robots.txt?

It's /usr/local/www/apache22/data/ by default.

Ah. OK, so that did not get created properly. Do I reinstall or is there a subscript I can run to get the html/php generated properly?

Re: Freebsd 8.2 Jail iRedMail install (was blank page)

I think I see one issue with how I set it up. I named the system, for example, "mail.blah.net", but I see the postmaster is "postmaster@blah.net". Shouldn't it be "postmaster@mail.blah.net"?

Thank you for following up!

You have to check log files to find the root cause.

Re: Freebsd 8.2 Jail iRedMail install (was blank page)

/var/log/httpd-error.log ? or some other log location?

When I look at the above I see pages of errors starting with:

[Sat May 28 03:30:01 2011] [warn] RSA server certificate is a CA certificate (BasicConstraints: CA == TRUE !?)

blah blah ....

removed because I'm not sure it matters to the overall topic ... the fix was starting over with a better understanding smile

Re: Freebsd 8.2 Jail iRedMail install (was blank page)

I deleted the jail, recreated with the full proper host name, and followed this:

http://www.iredmail.org/wiki/index.php? … eeBSD/Jail

Things are generally working. I'll also look at this for tweaking:

Hoping got it this time!

I now can see all of the configuration pages via a browser, so things working better now.

Be sure to follow these directions as well for awstats:

http://www.iredmail.org/forum/topic1861 … sd-82.html

To edit your crontab, find it in /tmp/crontab.blah . (I think the crontab file in /etc/ is changed by the system with updates.)

Your stats will be at http://mail.yourdomain.something/awstats/awstats.pl

Also, if you want to see ldap and iredadmin via http, go to /usr/local/etc/apache22/Includes/ and edit the respective .conf files. Comment in the Alias and Scriptalias lines.

The bottom of this page gives you the http links for the various interfaces to the software components:

http://code.google.com/p/iredmail/wiki/ … d_programs

I'm apparently missing the postfixadmin option at the moment. :\

PostfixAdmin was removed since iRedMail-0.7.0.

Re: Freebsd 8.2 Jail iRedMail install (was blank page)

Thank you for the feedback. A simple setup is probably good for me for the time being.

My intention is to connect only via ssl and tls, but running into a firefox 4 problem during testing here. Connecting to https://mail.blah.net/iredadmin pops up "This Connection is Untrusted". Following the normal routine, I try to add and exception, but then firefox reports that "This site provides valid, verified identification. ..." , but doesn't provide an option to "Confirm". Has anyone encountered this and found a workaround?
