Topic: Install of ireadmail on RHEL-6

Hi Team,

I was trying to install ireadmail on RHEL-6, but getting these errors in terms of "php".

Errors:-

Error: Package: php-imap-5.2.10-1.el5.centos.i386 (iRedMail)
           Requires: libc-client.so.1
Error: Package: php-snmp-5.2.10-1.el5.centos.i386 (iRedMail)
           Requires: libnetsnmp.so.10
Error: Package: php-dba-5.2.10-1.el5.centos.i386 (iRedMail)
           Requires: php-common = 5.2.10-1.el5.centos
           Installed: php-common-5.3.2-6.el6.i686 (@local)
               php-common = 5.3.2-6.el6
           Available: php-common-5.2.10-1.el5.centos.i386 (iRedMail)
               php-common = 5.2.10-1.el5.centos
You could try using --skip-broken to work around the problem
You could try running: rpm -Va --nofiles --nodigest

Thanks
Jitender

is it possible I can easily run ireadmail for cloud computing an average of 25 Virtual Domain with 5000 users, with 512 MB of space for each users.
What is the system specification should required for this lager scale.
What all are the backend steps which I have to follow.
I need to setup this on lager scale.
Please Help?

Yes, you can assign 512MB mailbox quota for each users.

What do you mean "larger scale"?

Re: Install of ireadmail on RHEL-6

Large Scale means to open cloud atmosphere, where I can provide and support company mails server and our end.

I hope you will help me?

Thanks

Re: Install of ireadmail on RHEL-6

Not very clear what exactly you need. Sorry.
But of course you can provide mail service with iRedMail to your customers, it should be good enough.

Maybe this page can give you some more reference? http://www.iredmail.org/stories.html

Re: Install of ireadmail on RHEL-6

the cloud computing, is Xen vps.

in our experience, one vps, 16G memery, I think it can support the 5000 user and no problem.

if you want to add more domain and user ,you can setting other vps.

Hi,
Should I go for RHEL 5.6 for Centos 5.5 which one is more stable.
When will ireadmail release it for RHEL-6, because on RHEL-6 it is not going which I have already tested.

Thanks

You have to use RHEL6? not RHEL 5?

support for RHEL6 will be available in about 3 months.

Re: Install of ireadmail on RHEL-6

I think Centos 5.5 woud stable.

RHEL 5.6 we have never test in iRedMail.

I think we would wait CentOS 6.0 publish and start to support.

I have tested the ireadmail on RHEL-5.6 it is working fine.
Thanks for proper guidance.

Sorry, RHEL6 support is delayed.
It ships Dovecot-2.x, the config is quite different from 1.x.

Re: Install of ireadmail on RHEL-6

if you want support for the real rhel you could sponsor the rhel-6 licenses to Zhang smile

so for the moment i would recommend to stick with centos 5.6 as 6.0 is not available

occasionally: use ext4 for your /var/vmail - partition (in 5.5 it's beta - in 5.6 its included as stable)

there will be some work to migrate current configs (i.e. dovecot 1.x -> 2.x) so maybe you want to stick to a "stable system" for the next few weeks.

Re: Install of ireadmail on RHEL-6

I'm working on CentOS 6 support. You can track status here:
http://code.google.com/p/iredmail/source/list

All components are working, just need some more testing to make sure it's working as expected.
iRedMail-0.7.3-beta1 will be available soon, please help test when it's available.
