Hi,

I did a fresh install of Ubuntu and installed iRedMail on it.

Everything installed fine, I installed fail2ban along with it.

Now I get Page not available errors in my browser because fail2ban seems to have added a REJECT line to IPtables for my IP address because of the ICMP port not being reachable?

Not sure why it has to block me for that? I turned off iptables and now it works fine but I rather have it running and fail2ban just not insta banning me because I'm running pfsense at home and it blocks icmp requests by default?

Anyone who can help me setup fail2ban not to block me in that case?

Searched a bit through its config files, but can't find anything related to ICMP

Re: fail2ban blocking me instantly

It's not related to ICMP.

Fail2ban scans failures / errors in several logs files, if one client triggered several failures / errors, fail2ban will call iptables to block client IP address. You'd better check /etc/fail2ban/jail.local for more details.
