Topic: RROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost'

==== Required information ====
- iRedMail version (check /etc/iredmail-release): 0.9.4
- Linux/BSD distribution name and version:  centos 7
- Store mail accounts in which backend (LDAP/MySQL/PGSQL): MySQL
- Web server (Apache or Nginx): Apache
- Manage mail accounts with iRedAdmin-Pro? no
- Related log if you're reporting an issue: runtime/install.log
====

After running iRedMail.sh on a machine with an existing mysql root account I did not find any iRedMail entries in the database and the error message above in the install.log. I assume this happened because of the different password used for root. Is there a chance to (re-)run the install script configured with the password of the existing root account?

If you type mysql root password correctly, the installation should go well. Did you input a wrong mysql root password?

iRedMail requires a NEW, FRESH server OS, it's clearly mentioned in our tutorial. I suggest you try it on a new server instead.
