Topic: Cannot get PHP to work

iRedMail version: 0.9.4
OS: Debian 4.8.4-1, Linux version 3.16.0-4-amd64 (2016-04-08)
Mail accounts storage: MySQL
Web Server: Nginx
No iRedMail Pro

I've just got a server from linode, I've update debian then went straight for the iredmail install, everything is fresh.

Now the problem is that I created a file called phptest.php in the /var/www directory, usually this works but for some reason it doesn't show the <?php phpinfo(); ?>.

Side note: I've chowned to root:www-data and chmoded 775 on phptest.php

So, in the light of all the missing informations.........
What do you get? A screen saying "it doesn't work."? Probably not.

Bad gateway? 404? have you checked /var/log/nginx/error.log?
WHAT have you done before posting this seemingly "i couldn't careless. What's google.com again" post?

Have you made sure /etc/nginx/nginx.conf has www-data as running user up top? I wish i could feel your pain.

Sorry for my attitude, understand this tho; there's WAY too much of this "usually it works" (for who? others??). There's a SHIT F%?CK*%$(*%?$ pile of explanations on the internets. Yes thoses inter-nets.

I've just gave you all the information you need, I started fresh and all I added was a *.php file to test to see if php was working. Maybe you read my post wrong....

Again, jumping to conclusions, if there were errors in the log I would of posted them. You know, you could just ask instead of ripping your hair out.

Unless it's not a fresh install, then I would agree with you, but I don't.

That's still no excuse to vent on me for your mistakes. There really isn't much to set this up since it runs from an "all-in-one" script. Again, unless it's not a fresh install then your completely right.

Re: Cannot get PHP to work

Alrighty,

I've checked the php.ini file and it disables the phpinfo();

Found out by using other php code such as a simple echo. Thanks for nothing mathieu.
