Topic: iOS and Outlook Documentation Inconsistency

Hey there,

We're considering using iRedMail as a groupware solution, but I'm quite confused from this part of the documentation: http://www.iredmail.org/docs/activesync.ios.html

In the "Important Notes" section, it states explicitly:

"iRedMail doesn't provide full support for Microsoft Outlook clients, Mac OS X Mail.app and all iOS devices [...] don't try to add your mail account as an Exchange account in these mail clients. You have to add account as POP3/IMAP account, caldav/carddav account instead."

Then step 4 of the actual iOS guide below proceeds by saying:

"Choose Exchange."

From everything I can gather the "Important notes" section should probably not include "iOS devices" in that list. Am I right about this?

Re: iOS and Outlook Documentation Inconsistency

Microsoft Exchange server and Outlook software supports different protocols:

- EAS (Exchange ActiveSync)
- EWS (Exchange Web Service)
- MAPI

Most mobile devices (iOS, Android, BlackBerry, ...) supports EAS, but NOT EWS, MAPI. iRedMail supports EAS (#1) by running SOGo groupware.
