We host a brand new server on Linode but are plagued by a problem of poor reputation.  We should have none.   We have had to unsubscribe from quite a few blocklists for our hostname and for our IP address respectively.    I'd like help in figuring out why we would be penalized for hosting a new server.   If anyone can shed some light on this subject, and on how to establish good email rep, I would appreciate it.

Easy: because someone else uses this IP address to send spams before you got this IP.
