Hi all !
I installed Iredmail some months ago and it works fine. Now I would like to change the user backend from PGSL to LDAP without reinstalling erverything.

I plan to reuse the LDAP server for other systems and would like to have shorter and simpler logins than firstname.lastname@doman.name . Is this possible at all ?  Users should still be able to change their passwords with roundcube, shouldn't they ?

Impossible.

SQL/LDAP stores data in different format, and other applications have different configure for SQL/LDAP support.

I know. The idea was to amend the existing LDAP-Structure of IRedmail.  Nextcloud for example could authorize its users against a given LDAP-Server and that would be yours.

Or is it impossible to change the backend later on at all ?

NextCloud should work fine with the OpenLDAP server configured by iRedMail.

But I understand correctly that a change of backend is not possible after installation ?

Does the open source edition (not PRO ) with LDAP ?

You're correct, you cannot change it after installation.

Sure. iRedMail supports MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, OpenLDAP, OpenBSD ldapd.

Wait... you're saying Nextcloud could use iRedMail server for authentication?
