Topic: file system to use

Mailserver should run without interrupts for years.

ext3fs don´t trusts itself and do a fs check after amount of mounts or several days.

If I have to reboot the server after long time, a file system check is a possible issue and could take a long time (hours) when useing ext3fs.

xfs should be faster. What do you think about xfs in a mailserver environment?

Re: file system to use

I havn't used XFS before. but i trust ext3 on RHEL.

If reiserfs is available , you can use it to get better performance for mail service (mails always are small files).
