Hello. If we plan to use IRM Pro server as an SMTP relay only and handle email accounts on a different server, can we get by with a 2 GB memory server?
Looking at relaying maybe 300,000 emails a day.
What would you suggest?

30 emails a day? do you plan to enable spam/virus scanning on this server?

Re: Server requirements for SMTP relay only

300,000 emails relayed mostly outgoing only. We control what mail is sent. It is for our Newsletter subscribers.
We want feedback on delivery success.
Occasionally we get requests for Unsubscribe which we need to deal with.
I'm not sure if we need spam/virus for outgoing unless someone hacks into the server and tries to use it as an open relay.
But just in case I suppose it would be good to have.

Re: Server requirements for SMTP relay only

If it's just used to send newsletter, and no others send email from this server, it's ok to not have spam/virus scanning. You can make sure the newsletter content is clean, right?

Turn on spam/virus scanning will slow down the speed a lot.
