Topic: Migrating iredmail to another server

==== REQUIRED BASIC INFO OF YOUR IREDMAIL SERVER ====

- Linux/BSD distribution name and version: Ubuntu 18.04.1
- Web server: Nginx

Hi,

I am about to migrate a iRedmail instance to a fresh new server. Both are running the latest version of iRedmail, but the old one is running Ubuntu 14.04 and the new one Ubuntu 18.04.

I have looked at https://docs.iredmail.org/migrate.to.ne … erver.html and to my understanding I could only move the /var/vmail catalogue and move the databases to the new server, correct?

Is there a general "check-list" that could be used before I perform the actually migration?

Thanks!
And I suppose iRedadmin will recognize the mailboxes once they are migrated?

As mentioned in the tutorial, if the maildir path stored in SQL db matches the path on file system, and the mailboxes have correct owner (vmail:vmail) and permission (0700), then yes it will be recognized automatically.

Indeed that was the case!
