Hi Zhang,

I'm following the upgrade steps to 0.9.8, but if my CentOS 7 distribution still offers Dovecot 2.2, can I safely apply "Add new ldap attribute/value pairs required by Dovecot-2.3." when still running Dovecot 2.2?

I would do this now already to avoid later problems when CentOS 7 moves to Dovecot 2.3.

Thanks in advance for your advice!

Kind regards,
Ward

I just completed doing this, and so far, so good. It's not yet a production server, I'm still migrating accounts from an old non iRedMail server, but testing shows no issues.

You can install 2.3 using the dovecot repository:
https://repo.dovecot.org/
Instructions are there.

Hope that helps.

It's safe.
