Re: Alias root not working!

Did you ever modify /etc/postfix/aliases? Does this file contain a line like below?

root: user@domain.com

Did you run command "postalias /etc/postfix/aliases" after modified this file?

When I installed iRedMail 0.9.8 done. File /etc/postfix/aliases include root: postmaster@xxx. I don't edit this file.

Re: Alias root not working!

Try this:

1: run command "postalias /etc/postfix/aliases". Any error in command output?
2: Send an email to root user: root@<server-hostname>. Replace <server-hostname> by the real server hostname. Any error in Postfix log file?

1: run command "postalias /etc/postfix/aliases". No error output.
2: Send an email to root user: root@<server-hostname>. No email to postmaster@<server-hostname>.

Thanks a lot.

Re: Alias root not working!

It seems your /etc/postfix/aliases has a wrong email address for the "root" user. Could you please try to use a Gmail/hotmail/outlook/yahoo address instead for testing?
