Topic: Cannot send to a domain but can receive from it

==== REQUIRED BASIC INFO OF YOUR IREDMAIL SERVER ====
- iRedMail version (check /etc/iredmail-release): 1.1 PGSQL edition
- Deployed with iRedMail Easy or the downloadable installer? Downloadable installer
- Linux/BSD distribution name and version: Ubuntu 18.04.4 LTS
- Store mail accounts in which backend (LDAP/MySQL/PGSQL): PGSQL
- Web server (Apache or Nginx): NGINX
- Manage mail accounts with iRedAdmin-Pro? Yes
- [IMPORTANT] Related original log or error message is required if you're experiencing an issue.
====

I do not know where the appropriate logs are for this. Please let me know and I'll post them.

Strange things.

I can send from an email account on a different domain to my email on iRedMail and it comes through quickly. But when I reply, it never shows up on the different domain. iRedMail shows it in the sent folder, but it never shows up on the receiving server. I do not get any messages bounced back on the iRedMail server.

Other users report that they cannot send from their gmail account, and other email accounts, to their iRedMail account. I can send back and forth to gmail from my iRedMail account without difficulty.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

I think this is the correct part of the mail.log file. Please forgive me if it is not and tell me what I must do.

Thank you

I got that the connection timed out. Is there anything I can do for that? I don't know how to check to see if the problem is on my end or not. Please advise. Like I said earlier, I can send from them to me, just not from my iRedMail server back to them.

They are using Microsoft Exchange Server, I do not know which version.

Thanks again.

ClamAV service "clamav-daemon" is not running. Please run "freshclam" first, then restart it:

freshclam
service clamav-daemon restart

I guess your ISP blocks port 25 for outbound traffic. Please contact your ISP to get a confirmation.

I'd be interested to know why your iRedMail is trying to send to 23.185.0.1 though.
If I lookup their MX records, then it shows Mimecast

;; ANSWER SECTION:
chesapeakeregional.com. 3598    IN      MX      0 us-smtp-inbound-2.mimecast.com.
chesapeakeregional.com. 3598    IN      MX      0 us-smtp-inbound-1.mimecast.com.

But if I lookup their A records, then 23.185.0.1 appears to be an A record for their website

;; ANSWER SECTION:
www.chesapeakeregional.com. 3598 IN     CNAME   live-chesapeakeregional.pantheonsite.io.
live-chesapeakeregional.pantheonsite.io. 598 IN CNAME fe1.edge.pantheon.io.
fe1.edge.pantheon.io.   298     IN      A       23.185.0.1

So you are not emailing their mail server at all, you're emailing their website, which expains why the connection timed out because the server is not listening on 25

telnet 23.185.0.1 25
Connecting To 23.185.0.1...Could not open connection to the host, on port 25: Connect failed
