*) Known bugs:

  • Awstats doesn't work on Ubuntu 9.04 with MySQL backend. It seems there's a bug in libapache2-mod-auth-mysql.

*) New Features & Improvements:

  • Automatically add a disclaimer to outgoing emails with Amavisd-new + alterMIME (v0.3.10).

  • Hashed maildir path.

    • Old style: domain.ltd/username/

    • New style: domain.ltd/u/us/use/username-2009.

  • New python script for bulk importing users: tools/create_mail_user_OpenLDAP.py

  • OpenLDAP backend special:

    • Warning: Attribute 'domainStatus' is deprecated, use 'accountStatus' instead.

    • Mail alias support.

    • Add mail list 'all@domain.ltd' by default, but disabled. Each user is member of it.

    • Enable address book control. You can control mail address displayed in global ldap address book or not (enabledService=displayedInGlobalAddressBook), support mail user, mail list, and mail alias.

    • Enable per-user and per-domain sender/recipient bcc control in postfix (enabledService=senderbcc/recipientbcc)

    • Enable per-user mail forwarding control in postfix (enabledService=forward).

    • Enable per-user managesieve service (customize mail filter rule) control (enabledService=managesieve)

    • Add more LDAP attributes in iredmail.schema.

  • MySQL related:

    • Add more columns in vmail.mailbox table: employeeid, lastlogindate, lastloginipv4, lastloginprotocol.

  • Roundcube webmail:

    • Updated to 0.2.1-stable, plus patches.

    • Improved Global LDAP address book. All users can search contacts in their same domain, includes mail users, lists, aliases.

    • User can search only accounts in the same domain.

  • Postfix related:

    • Enable per-user transport maps.

    • Add relay_domains & relay_recipient_maps in postfix, used for backup mx.

    • Remove unnecessary ldap lookup maps.

  • Dovecot related:

    • Enable quota warning feature by default, user will receive quota warning mail when mailbox quota reaches 85%/90%/95%.

  • Apache related:

    • Add robots.txt in document root to disallow search engines.

  • Package update:

    • Dovecot-1.1.18

    • ClamAV-0.95.2

    • Awstats-6.9

    • SquirrelMail-1.4.19
