Well I thought it was all working - have migrated old server to new machine using the migration instructions.  Only difference is the nnnnew machine is iRedMail 1.3.1 whilst the old one was 1.3 - but I can see nothing in the changelog that would cause a problem.

Everything work EXCEPT incoming mail from external servers.  All ports are fine but I have this in the mail.log
Oct 10 18:38:55 HDVSa postfix/smtpd[6087]: NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from mail-ej1-f41.google.com[209.85.218.41]: 450 4.7.1 <xxx@yyy.com>: Recipient address rejected: Temporary internal error; from=<test@gmail.com> to=<xxx@yyy.com> proto=ESMTP helo=<mail-ej1-f41.google.com>

I cannot work out what is wrong or what to do next?  Any ideas?

Thank you - have been at this for hours!

Dovecot log is a mess as well

Oct 10 18:51:17 HDVSa dovecot: quota-status(brewer@xxx.com)<6088><>: Error: auth-master: userdb lookup(brewer@xxx.com): Auth USER lookup failed
Oct 10 18:51:17 HDVSa dovecot: quota-status: Error: Failed to lookup user brewer@xxx.com: Internal error occurred. Refer to server log for more information.

Re: Server Migration - no incoming mail

problem seems to be old server was Dovecot v2.2.32.2 (despite always being updated????) - new iRedMail download is 2.3.7.2

Have tried to follow 'Upgrade Dovecot from 2.2.x to 2.3.x'. - doesn't solve the problem.

Still have same error - will post from VM

Been at this for 18 hours - total nightmare

Re: Server Migration - no incoming mail

Strangely one virtual domain on the server works for incoming  - no idea why?

Re: Server Migration - no incoming mail

Correction - 1 domain works for incoming from gmail only - small text message so presume no quota lookup?

Re: Server Migration - no incoming mail

Found the f''''er

[OPTIONAL] Enable mailbox quota status check in Dovecot and Postfix.

https://docs.iredmail.org/upgrade.iredm … -postfix_1

A discarded optional step = years ago.....  still got some errors but getting there

A note of caution - never run iRedMail on a Virtual machine without very robust backups!  VM disk capsule file had I/o errors which screwed up scheduled backups (the server still runs but mail items were being slowly lost) - capsule file was unrecoverable +> rebuild and migrate iredmail

19 hours and going...

Thank you Zhang for all the great documentation available to fault find and solve this stuff
