Topic: How to upgrade iRedMail version 0.8.7 to 1.3.2

Hi everybody.
I have a mail server running iRedMail version 0.8.7 on Centos 6. Now I want to upgrade iRedMail to current version 1.3.2 to run on Centos 7. Do I learn, the session database structure version 0.8.7 is not the same as version 1.3.2. So when switching from 0.8.7 to 1.3.2 will fail. I don't know how to install the system and how to transfer the data. Please everyone help, support me with this problem.

Seems a lot of work to do, get a support from iredmail.

Re: How to upgrade iRedMail version 0.8.7 to 1.3.2

Hi dungcoiads,

In my experience. what i did was the below steps:
1. Install iRedmail 1.3.2 in a new server with the same domain name
2. Login to "youripaddress/iredadmin" then re-create the email in your new iRedmail 1.3.2 server with the same email as in your old iredmail 0.8.7
3. Login to "youripaddress/mail" using each email address in order to create a mailbox name in /var/vmail/vmail1/yourdomain.com
4. Using "rsync" copy the /var/vmail/vmail1/yourdomain.com from your iredmail 0.8.7 to your iredmail 1.3.2 /var/vmail/vmail1/yourdomain.com (to copy all the emails)

Note: it is a very tedious process imagine if you have let's say around 1000 emails but it is 100%sure.

Many thanks to @jung for coming up with a solution to this. It is also a feasible solution, for sure, to ensure data safety.

Thanks @jung
