Topic: LDAP vs MySQL backend

Hi,

my question is:

Which backend is better for you and why: LDAP or MySQL.

I am not familiar with LDAP and want to know features I can get from.
May I use LDAP functionality to authorize another services from my servers ie: FTP?

It's better to use the one you're familiar with.
