OS: CentOS-7-x64-minimal +headless
Hiya,
I'm pointing my domain to my Server-host and my Server-host to my Domain. I'm confused a bit. For CentOS-7-x64-minimal +headless I set by followings:
>vi /etc/hostname
mail.{myDomain}.com
>vi /etc/hosts
{It was as below:}
127.0.0.1 localhost localhost.localdomain localhost4 localhost4.localdomain4
::1 localhost localhost.localdomain localhost6 localhost6.localdomain104
{I changed it to this:}
{my Server IP} mail.{my Domain}.com
127.0.0.1 mail.{my Domain}.com mail localhost localhost.localdomain
>vi /etc/hosts
{my Server IP} mail.{my Domain}.com
127.0.0.1 mail.{my Domain}.com mail localhost localhost.localdomain
And for my Domain the domain control panel:
https://ibb.co/MV6ZtyZ
As I set an A Record in my Domain control panel to point mail.{my domain}.com to {My Server IPv4} as below:
https://ibb.co/c12y94F
I set the MX records as below:
https://ibb.co/nnHG74C
I shall mention that pinging below is successful and it's replying with the Server's dedicated IP address.
'ping mail.{my Domain}.com
Results:
...
Ping statistics for {my server IP}:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 46ms, Maximum = 50ms, Average = 47ms'
I have done the installation on CentOS-7-x64-minimal (+headless) and it was successful. I need to be sure their settings to pointing the domain to host and host to domain are right. If I do need to change any setting in related to the above matters, do I need to reinstall everything?
Tnx and best of luck
