Hiya,
I'm looking to implement the downloadable version on a portable lightweight slimline PC to use as my mail-server at home. In this case, what shall I set the Domain name and where to purchase a dedicated IPv4 to be able to connect it to my Hostname?
I wanted to say, in case I want to use a local PC as a mail server, do I need to purchase an IPv4 or just purchasing a domain name will be enough(Can I point my A-Records to an external Server's IP, that the same IP accessible in the local network to me as I have OpenVPN on that Server to bring the same server's IP to my local network, thus my local mail-server will be able to work and send and receive mails)?
If you would be able to help me by advising me on how to implement this, I appreciate it.
How can I have a local mail-server at home that I use a domain as Hostname to receive the emails and send the emails and in this case what happens for the IPv4 that shall be allocated to the mail-server as the A-Records of the domain name? If I allocate a local IPv4 in my network, I may able to send emails but may not be able to receive emails, how shall I fix this issue, please? How shall I implement this on the cleanest and professional and high-performance concept, please?
Tnx and best of luck
