====
I'm ready to build back from a previous snapshot and want to know what to get off the old machine and how to restore.

Mail is not being delivered nor being sent. Telneting from INSIDE THE MACHINE gets:

[root@mail ~]# telnet 10.0.0.185 25
Trying 10.0.0.185...
telnet: connect to address 10.0.0.185: Connection refused

in machine on port 25: Trying 127.0.0.1...
Connected to 127.0.0.1.
Escape character is '^]'.
220 mail.riverinternet.com ESMTP Postfix

telneting form outside in network and out gets:

telnet: connect to address 10.0.0.185: Connection refused
or
Connecting To mail.riverinternet.com...Could not open connection to the host, on
port 25: Connect failed

There's errors all over the place. I rebooted and it just did not come up right.

Re: Dead in the water, can I backup and restore

The documentations is good for the backup and restore. Took a lot less time than I thought it would.

rsync is a nice way to copy and restore the vmail directory off to another server, preservers ownership, permissions, etc.
