Topic: How to disable domain as local domain

==== REQUIRED BASIC INFO OF YOUR IREDMAIL SERVER ====
- iRedMail version (check /etc/iredmail-release): 0.9.4
- Deployed with iRedMail Easy or the downloadable installer?
- Linux/BSD distribution name and version:
- Store mail accounts in which backend (LDAP/MySQL/PGSQL):

- [IMPORTANT] Related original log or error message is required if you're experiencing an issue.
====
How to disable one domain as local delivery. When I delete the domain In Backend then mails are going to internet and reach serwer. But when I "disable" the domain In Backend then I heve error and email stuck in local server. Is there a simple solution? I dont want to delete "domain" because of historical emails.

error: SMTP error from remote mail server after RCPT TO:<user@the_domain.com>:
    554 5.7.1 <user@the_domain.com>:
Recipient address rejected: Policy rejection not logged in

Re: How to disable domain as local domain

hi
but when I added another domain not registered in world DNS i disabled it I received differrent message
"
This message was created automatically by mail delivery software.
A message that you sent could not be delivered to one or more of its recipients. This is a permanent error. The following address(es) failed:
  user@12qwer.pl
    Unrouteable address
"
it means that "disable" is working ..? It looks like server did not look for this domain in local server but in DNS. So what the problem according to first post?

Re: How to disable domain as local domain

hi I've managed. I must edit MTEtransport in LDAP for the_domain.com, changed entry from dovecot to

smtp:[the_domain-com.mail.protection.outlook.com]:25

this entry  the_domain-com.mail.protection.outlook.com is taken from Microsoft, its DNS MX address for my domain from MS

Now I have communication with old mailboxes on my old server (domain is no deleted and is no disabled), and old server is sending all mail to microsoft server 365

Re: How to disable domain as local domain

hi, now I have problem sending from Microsoft account user@the_domain.com to my server, because domin still exists on my local server,
error:
"Recipient address rejected: Policy rejection not logged in;"

to sum up: I cant send from new Office365 to my old server (I dont want to delete this domain)

How to disable tis policy for this domain (existing in Office365)?

the problem is the same here: https://forum.iredmail.org/topic13340-i … cting.html

the answer:
"Let's say client owns 'client.com', and you own 'my.com'. If client moved to another mail server vendor, you should remove or disable his mail domain name 'client.com' on your server. for example, disable 'client.com' with iRedAdmin"

but "disable: in LDAP backend dosent work sad

Re: How to disable domain as local domain

Seems a known issue in old iRedMail release, you're running iRedMail-0.9.4, why not upgrade?
