Topic: will fail2ban monitor connections on ports 993, 995, 465 and 587

checking configuration of fail2ban I see there are many that it will monitor, but I am not sure if it will monitor connections on ports 993, 995, 465 and 587.
will it block malicious imap connections on these ports?

fail2ban dosn't monitor any ports at all

fail2ban only monitors log files

will it block the IP of those that try to log into an email account with a wrong password?
if yes, after how many attempts and where I can change that?

YES.

Check files in /etc/fail2ban/, especially:

fail2ban.local
jail.d/*.local
