Topic: Sender address rejected: not logged in;

Dear Iredmail, Dear Zhang,

we have the following problem on one of our servers.

all account is working fine, we can receive mails from external servers and mailboxes.

But if we want to send mail to another mailbox within the same server using external smtp we get the following error.

postfix/smtpd[17594]: NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from EXTERNAL SMTP: 553 5.7.1 <mail1@domain.net>: Sender address rejected: not logged in; from=<mail1@domain2.net> to=<mail1@domain.net> proto=ESMTP helo=<EXTERNAL SMTP>

we dont get this error when using our mail server with SMTP-AUTH.

so the problem only occurs when sending to mailboxes within the same server with external smtp.

thanks in advance!

Tamás

iRedMail forces users to send email with SMTP auth, so that your server won't be an open relay.

hehe! that makes sense! smile

i was not thinking right away the down side effect of having users send without auth like i described...
