can u pls let me know how long is the life of ssl certificate and how can i extend the period when expire.

It's 3650 days (10 years) by default.

If it expired, you can generate new SSL cert and key with shell script shipped in iRedMail. e.g. iRedMail-0.7.3/tools/generate_ssl_keys.sh. Here's detail tutorial:
