Re: Installation Failed

Error message is clear. You have php53 and mysql51 installed.

php53 conflicts with the package php and mysql51 conflicts with mysql.

I don't know if you need php53 and mysql51 but if you don't use this, run :

> yum erase php53 mysql51

And re-install iredmail

Re: Installation Failed

The existing installs of php/mysql power my forums - I didn't think about email messages my forums generate until recently.  That's what I'm trying to install iRedMail for.

If you don't have to manage user's mail and just send mail (and not received mail) about generated message by your forum then install postfix or sendmail and configure in local, it will manage to send e-mails.

Re: Installation Failed

The other component to sending emails is I need to be able to check to see if anyone emails a response (via a contactus user, postmaster user etc etc).  Otherwise I'd be fine with just that.

Re: Installation Failed

iRedMail is designed to be deployed on a FRESH OS, it's mentioned in installation guide:

***************************** WARNING ********************************
* iRedMail is designed to deploy on a FRESH server system, which *
* means it does NOT have mail related components installed, e.g. *
* Apache, MySQL, OpenLDAP, Postfix, Dovecot, Amavisd, etc. Otherwise *
* it may override your existing files/configurations althought it *
* will backup files before modify, and it may be not working as *
* expected.                                                          *
***************************** WARNING ********************************

Personally, i don't recommend you to install iRedMail on this server which has forum running.
You can install sendmail or postfix as @smartdrive suggested, and monitor responses with Postfix/Sendmail log files.
