Topic: iRedMail-0.8.0-beta2 has been released, with perfect Gentoo support

Dear all,

iRedMail-0.8.0-beta2 is now available for testing, you can download it here: iRedMail-0.8.0-beta2.tar.bz2.

We need your help to test it on all supported Linux/BSD distributions, especially test on Ubuntu 11.04/11.10 to make PostgreSQL backend stable, and test on Gentoo Linux with the latest portage.

NOTE: Please do NOT install beta releases on production server, there's no upgrade tutorials available for beta releases.

Major changes since iRedMail-0.7.4 are:

  • It now works on Gentoo Linux perfectly, with the latest portage. Here's installation guide for Gentoo Linux.[0.8.0-beta2]

  • You can now choose to store mail accounts and application data in PostgreSQL database. NOTE: PostgreSQL backend is available on only Ubuntu 11.04, 11.10. [0.8.0-beta1]

  • Upgrade Roundcube webmail to the latest stable release 0.7.1. [0.8.0-beta1]

There will be 1 or 2 beta releases available soon for new features:

  • SpamAssassin bayesian filter and auto-learning

  • PostgreSQL support in iRedAdmin, both open source edition and iRedAdmin-Pro

Also, we need your help to make iRedMail work on Arch Linux, please refer to this post:

Re: iRedMail-0.8.0-beta2 has been released, with perfect Gentoo support

- It's recommended to deploy the stable release for production use.
- PostgreSQL is available on only Ubuntu 11.10 and 12.04, not CentOS 6.

The spam improvements were cancelled. I don't know the reason for it.
