Hi Zhang,

I tried searching in Forum and FAQ for best practice in Linux hard disk partioning for best performance and security but no luck.As of now I am using default partition layout. Is there any implication or performance bottleneck in default layout.

Future I am planing to have one more backup IRM server with LDAP replication and rsync of mailboxes.

Is it alright if I use default hard disk Partition layout ?

Thanks in advance for any suggestion Zhang.

Re: Hard Disk Partition - Best Practice

Dear santoshkrg,

Just my 2 cents:

- The directory used to store mailboxes, /var/vmail by default, will use many disk space, so please make sure you have enough disk space for this directory.
- Use LVM if possible. If mailboxes grows day by day, you probably need addition disk storage. LVM will make your life easier.

Others may have better suggestions. smile
