Would like to know how to build a custom vm appliance to do email pass-though to individual vm's running group-office from http://wiki4.group-office.com/wiki/Main_Page and wordpress, Druple or Joomal i will be useing prebuilt vm's from http://www.turnkeylinux.org. I can get a proxy gong with squid but don't know anything about the email server configuration and a pass-though is way beyond my knowledge. I would like to use the the free open source version as i don't have a lot of cash though i am willing to pay someone at iRedMail to set it up with webmin and LDAP or MYSQL modual. This is for my own personal use not for a large scale commercial. I hope some one here can help other sites I've been on either they don't know how to do this setup or they give me the whole P.O.Q. with a backhand for my troubles.

Hi SgtWirehead,

Did you try to install iRedMail yourself? It's really easy.
After you get iRedMail running, you can setup other components like Wordpress, Drupal, etc.

wow quick response, yes i got it installed fine had some issues with dependencies but got that sorted out my self in a couple of hours. I mucked it up with the host-names though so am going to do a reinstall. I have been trying to get a email server running for one month now using various products, I'm rely not very good with email at all as i have only ever built strait web-servers.

I used this downloaded vm as a base to build on, TurnKey Core http://www.turnkeylinux.org/core i hope this is ok

The best way is installing iRedMail on a FRESH, CLEAN Linux/BSD server. For example, a minimal installation of Debian 6.

ok im at the optional components screen, do i rely need phpldapadmin and phpmyadmin as i would like to manage these though webmin only, i'm trying to restrict access to web-based interfaces and 2 are plenty (webmin, iredadmin).

You can install phpLDAPadmin and phpMyAdmin manually if you didn't choose to install it during iRedMail installation.

ok I followed the instructions here http://www.iredmail.org/install_iredmail_on_debian.html elected not to install phpldapadmin and phpmyadmin.

when going to https://mysite.com/iredadmin/

i get (internal server error) even after a reboot

so i shall format and start all over again.

Note: iRedMail uses a self-signed SSL certificate by default, so Firefox will warn you about this. Just click "add exception" to bypass this.

roll I did that its after that i got the (internal server error) so reformatted

then got
