Topic: Backend selection and architecture

Does anyone have a guide or experience as to which backend choice works well for what?  I chose LDAP for a test install but noticed that mysql was needed anyway, so I'm wondering if there are limitations or advantages one way or the other.

No big differences of features, we recommend you to choose the backend you're familiar with.
