- Store mail accounts in which backend (LDAP/MySQL/PGSQL):  LDAP
- Linux/BSD distribution name and version: Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS 64-bit

I was okay sending earlier but now I got this error:


(Host or domain name not found. Name service error for name=yahoo.com type=MX: Host not found, try again)

I have my email server setup with DNS 8.8.8.8

And i can even resolve yahoo.com
root@mail:/usr/local/src# ping yahoo.com
PING yahoo.com (98.139.183.24) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from ir2.fp.vip.bf1.yahoo.com (98.139.183.24): icmp_req=1 ttl=50 time=241 ms
64 bytes from ir2.fp.vip.bf1.yahoo.com (98.139.183.24): icmp_req=2 ttl=50 time=264 ms


I dont know what else to troubleshoot

Do you have correct DNS server in /var/spool/postfix/etc/resolv.conf?

Thanks! It was empty that is why postfix can not resolve. Thanks you saved me. I might have some questions popping out here in this forum since I am in the process of building an email server

I inputted nameserver 8.8.8.8 and I can now send.
