I seem to not be able to override SpamAssassin scores by entering custom scores in /etc/mail/spamassassin/local.cf.  I have a custom section with various scores, but they don't seem to be overriding the default scores in /usr/share/spamassassin/50scores.cf.  After changing the scores in local.cf, I have run "spamassassin --lint" and restarted Amavisd, but I am still seeing the default scores in spam messages afterward.  What am I missing?

Re: SpamAssassin scores not being respected

Make sure your custom scores are defined correctly (syntax).

*) Show us how you define scores
*) Restart Amavisd service with option 'debug-sa'. e.g. /etc/init.d/amavis debug-sa
*) Check Amavisd log file (same as Postfix log file) and check your scores.

After a couple of Amavisd restarts, the scores seem to be applied correctly.  Now to write a few more rules...
