Back in the iRed 0.8.4 days I didn't move forward with cluebringer and stayed on policyd 1.8.
What is the expected lifespan of policyd 1.8 in regards to iRedmail?

I didn't like the way cluebringer handled throttling at the time so I skipped migrating to it however, as time goes on i might need to plan to upgrade just to keep up with the iRed releases.

Eventually iRedMail is planning to entirely drop policyd/cluebringer. I guess if db structure is the same in policyd and cluebringer then it'll be supported as long as cluebringer is.

This is not an iRedAdmin-Pro Question though...

Re: How long will policyd 1.8 be supported?

I suggest you switch to Cluebringer. Because:

*) Policyd-1.8 is not under active maintenance for many years.
*) Policyd-1.8 is not available in Debian/Ubuntu repositories.
*) Policyd-1.8 is not used in any supported Linux/BSD distributions for about 1-2 years.

Unfortunately, looks like Cluebringer is not available in Debian 8 too.

As 7t3chguy mentioned, we do have plan to replace Policyd/Cluebringer by iRedAPD plugins.
