All my connections are in the format of
Apr 30 17:06:29 mail postfix/smtpd[14555]: connect from unknown[124.200.250.24]

I verified that /etc/hosts and /var/spool/postfix/hosts and config.resolv are the same

I can dig -x 124.200.250.24 just fine on the server

Oddly postfix resolve addresses if I place them in /etc/hosts

and yes
smtp_host_lookup = dns
