Hi,

We already buildup a iredmail server and now we would like to set the Backup MX.
Just wanna to verify that we need to:

https://docs.iredmail.org/backupmx.html

1/ Add a MX record to DNS as a backup
2/ Enable the Backup MX in iRedmail-Pro by IP Address
3/ Install another iredmail server as a backup MX Server

Any setting we need to do on the Backup MX Server? Anything I miss? Please advise.

Regards,
Matt

Re: Create a Backup MX

The tutorial is enough. smile

I read your post few times, i think you're trying to do it in opposite way:

*) With our tutorial, the iRedMail server is a Backup MX of your mail domain name, and your domain is hosted on another server which is primary server.

*) According to your post, seems you want iRedMail to be the primary server. In this case, there's nothing to do with iRedMail, you just need to update correct DNS records to point backup mx to the correct IP (of your backup mx server).

The IP used in the input field is PRIMARY MX.
