- Linux/BSD distribution name and version:  CentOS 7
- Store mail accounts in which backend (LDAP/MySQL/PGSQL):  LDAP

- [IMPORTANT] Related original log or error message is required if you're experiencing an issue.
====

Hi I deleted (platform.co.uk) one domain from iRedAdmin-Pro panel / local server and hosted deleted platform.co.uk domain on to other cloud server.  Domain was deleted successfully and same domain on new cloud server hosted successfully.

Now I have one maillist on cloud server which contains some users who belongs to different domain which is running on my local iredmail server. When i send email from ketan@gmail.com to maillist which is on cloud mailserver, the cloud server sends / forwards email to my existing domain ids as but server shows error as:

Jun 14 13:15:10 mail postfix/smtpd[20484]: NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from cloudemailserver[xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx]: 451 4.3.0 <SRS0=f0ZVd+=UN=gmail.com=ketan@platform.co.uk>: Temporary lookup failure; from=<SRS0=f0ZVd+=UN=gmail.com=ketan@platform.co.uk> to=<user@myiredmailhosted-domain.co.uk> proto=ESMTP helo=<cloudemailserverhostname>

Jun 14 13:15:10 mail postfix/smtpd[20484]: NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from cloudemailserverhostname[xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx]: 451 4.3.0 <SRS0=f0ZVd+=UN=gmail.com=ketan@platform.co.uk>: Temporary lookup failure; from=<SRS0=f0ZVd+=UN=gmail.com=ketan@platform.co.uk> to=<user@myiredmailhosted-domain.co.uk> proto=ESMTP helo=<cloudemailserverhostname

I think server is still looking for deleted domain in lookup table.

Can anyone guide further on this?

Re: Domain Deleted but still Temporary lookup failure;

Do you still have this issue after few days?

iRedMail doesn't have any cache for deleted mail domain. Not sure whether it's caused by cached DNS query, but not likely.

Re: Domain Deleted but still Temporary lookup failure;

Yes zhang, I just checked sending test mail but the issue still remains.

Jun 17 10:27:11 mail postfix/smtpd[4306]: warning: tcp:127.0.0.1:7779 lookup error for "srs0=9ygoxp=uq=gmail.com=ketan@platform.co.uk"

I think this is the problem.

Seems you have SRS enabled in iRedAPD, but missed some required parameter/values.
Do you have below 2 settings in /opt/iredapd/settings.py?

srs_secrets =
srs_domain =

5

Re: Domain Deleted but still Temporary lookup failure;

Yes I have both parameters in settings.py

srs_forward_port = '7778'
srs_reverse_port = '7779'
srs_domain = 'serverhostname'
srs_secrets = ['secretkey']

Re: Domain Deleted but still Temporary lookup failure;

No idea right now. Could you please paste log context instead of just the line contains error message?

It seems SRS issue.

If I remove SRS configs in main.cf mails are coming to internal domain users.

Re: Domain Deleted but still Temporary lookup failure;

- Any relevant error in iredapd log file (/var/log/iredapd/iredapd.log)?
- Could you pleae turn on debug mode in iredapd and try again? We need the detailed log for troubleshooting.

Re: Domain Deleted but still Temporary lookup failure;

- Is "platform.co.uk" the srs domain in /opt/iredapd/settings.py?
- Did you change srs domain and secrets in /opt/iredapd/settings.py recently?

If not, it looks like spams to me.

Re: Domain Deleted but still Temporary lookup failure;

No srs related settings in /opt/iredapd/setings.py only contains following lines, nothing related to platform.co.uk. my primary domain on iredmail server is @myiredmaildomain.com which is totally different. There is no change in /opt/iredapd/setings.py related to domain or secret as it is default upon iredmail or iredadmin-pro upgrades.

Here are the lines residing in settings.py

srs_forward_port = '7778'
srs_reverse_port = '7779'
srs_domain = 'SERVERHOSTNAME'
srs_secrets = ['SECRETKEY']

platform.co.uk domain was virtual domain earlier on iredmail server which I deleted from Admin-Pro panel as we hosted platform.co.uk domain on another hosting provider.

Now at new hosting provider I have created new group ID e.g. info@platform.co.uk where there are total 10 members. Out of 10, 4 members are having @myiredmaildomain.com users. So when I send email from my gmail account to info@platform.co.uk ID, cloud hosting server forwards my gmail's email to @myiredmaildomain.com user.

When that email comes to iredmail server SRS throws error as temporary lookup problem and Invalid hash in SRS. It is 100% original email originating from Gmail going to hosting server and from hosting server to iredmail server.

Re: Domain Deleted but still Temporary lookup failure;

- Do you use same SRS domain and secret on both iRedMail servers?
- Which iRedAPD release are you running? Please show us output of command below:

ls -dl /opt/iredapd

Re: Domain Deleted but still Temporary lookup failure;

- Do you use same SRS domain and secret on both iRedMail servers?
There is only single iRedMail Server, where I am receiving forwarded email from cloud hosted email services.

iRedAPD version is 2.6.

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 11 Mar 28 09:47 /opt/iredapd -> iRedAPD-2.6

Re: Domain Deleted but still Temporary lookup failure;

Please upgrade iRedAPD to the latest 3.0 and try again. We fixed an issue in 2.7 and it should solve your issue.

Re: Domain Deleted but still Temporary lookup failure;

yes Zhang, updated iRedAPD to the latest 3.0 and it solved the issue. Thanks a lot.
