Hi there,
I need to create email accounts that are send only.  I want a undeliverable email to be returned if an email is sent to these accounts because I want to spend less ressources (CPU, Storage) on these accounts.

Is there a recommendation?

I found
https://forum.iredmail.org/topic17714-s … abled.html
https://forum.iredmail.org/topic14926-h … alias.html
https://forum.iredmail.org/topic17403-h … -only.html
https://forum.iredmail.org/topic12063-i … count.html

But just disabling "deliver" and/or "lda" attributes gives an error on sending:

postfix/submission/smtpd[2568]: NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from unknown[18x.19x.14x.1xx]: 550 5.1.0 <test2@mydomain.com>: Sender address rejected: User unknown in virtual mailbox table; from=<test2@mydomain.com> to=<test1@mydomain.com> proto=ESMTP helo=<mail.mydomain.com>

There are no further problems sending/deliver mail by this server and for this domain (btw.: great work, great product, thanks a lot!)
Domain mydomain.com hostet on the local iRedMail server.
Mailbox / user test1 is my personal mailbox without any problems.
Mailbox / user test2 is created with iRedMail-Admin (not Pro!) and attributes "enabledService=deliver" and "enabledService=lda" deleted with phpLDAPadmin. Without deleting these attribute it works like a charm (but mails are delivered to the mailbox).

Any ideas or recommendations?

Thanks
Tony

Re: Send-only mail account

just use discard for delivery instead of dovecot, then not even a message is sent back
