Hello all.

Had an issue with my current mail server. I was trying to set up VPN Client but somehow messed up server. Now, for the past 3 days trying to get the server back running.

Question(s) I have:
Do I just unzip all the sqls from the backup files?
How far do I need to go back to recover everything?
After running the SQLs, any other steps I need to perform (apart from ownership)?
Any other tips and tricks?

Thank you

Re: Backup & Restore

Basically, if you install a new server you need these SQLs:
amavisd-*.sql
iredapd-*.sql
iredadmin-*.sql
roundcubemail-*.sql
vmail-*.sql
sogo-*.sql (if using)

don't recover mysql-*.sql on the new server

then copy all files from /var/vmail/vmail1/ to new server same location /var/vmail/vmail1/

Re: Backup & Restore

I wonder what the "messed up" means. Did you mess up the email server related config files? or just firewall rules?
