Topic: Can't Get SOGo Repo on Ubuntu 22.04

==== REQUIRED BASIC INFO OF YOUR IREDMAIL SERVER ====
- iRedMail version (check /etc/iredmail-release): 1.6.0
- Deployed with iRedMail Easy or the downloadable installer? Downloadable Installer
- Linux/BSD distribution name and version: Ubuntu 22.04
- Store mail accounts in which backend (LDAP/MySQL/PGSQL): MySQL
- Web server (Apache or Nginx):Nginx
- Manage mail accounts with iRedAdmin-Pro?No
- [IMPORTANT] Related original log or error message is required if you're experiencing an issue.
====

On a fresh Ubuntu 22.04 VPS the iRedMail installer creates the file /etc/apt/sources.list.d/sogo-nightly.list and despite a warning about apt-key being deprecated, appears to successfully import the apt key for SOGo.

Then I see this:

Hit:1 https://mirror.hetzner.com/ubuntu/packages jammy InRelease
Hit:2 https://mirror.hetzner.com/ubuntu/packages jammy-updates InRelease
Hit:3 https://mirror.hetzner.com/ubuntu/packages jammy-backports InRelease

E: The repository 'https://packages.inverse.ca/SOGo/nightly/5/ubuntu jammy Release' does not have a Release file.
N: Updating from such a repository can't be done securely, and is therefore disabled by default.
N: See apt-secure(8) manpage for repository creation and user configuration details.

I know this is most likely not an issue with iRedMail, but if anyone has any clues as to why this is happening and how to fix it, I'd be most grateful.

Regards, Steve.

Re: Can't Get SOGo Repo on Ubuntu 22.04

I reached out to the SOGo community and a guy named Slávek suggested I use his alternative build that contains the stable version of SOGo for Ubuntu 22.04. For any one interested the steps are:

1. Install the GPG key:

wget http://www.axis.cz/linux/debian/axis-archive-keyring.deb
dpkg -i axis-archive-keyring.deb

2. Add the repository to the sources list:

echo 'deb http://www.axis.cz/linux/debian jammy sogo-v5' > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/sogo-axis.list

This creates a new file named sogo-axis.list. You can name the file however you like, but it must have a .list extension and don't name it sogo-nightly.list as it'll get over-written by the iRedMail installer.

As the iRedMail installer still creates sogo-nightly.list you'll continue to see this message which you can now ignore as SOGo is installed from the alternative repository.

Re: Can't Get SOGo Repo on Ubuntu 22.04

Yeah I encountered the same thing. I understand it's not an iRedmail issue but the table on the iRedMail download page clearly states that 22.04 is the recommended Ubuntu OS with a checkmark for SOGO. That probably should be changed/contain a note.

Re: Can't Get SOGo Repo on Ubuntu 22.04

My bad, updated website to mention SOGo is not yet available on Ubuntu 22.04.

Re: Can't Get SOGo Repo on Ubuntu 22.04

Hello everyone,

I'm hoping someone can help me with an issue I'm currently facing. I recently updated my Ubuntu system to version 22.04, and as a result, SOGo is no longer functioning properly. I've been searching for a solution or workaround to get SOGo back up and running, but so far I've been unsuccessful.

If anyone has any suggestions or updates regarding this issue, please share them with me. I would greatly appreciate any assistance or advice you can provide.

Thank you in advance.

Re: Can't Get SOGo Repo on Ubuntu 22.04

Official apt repo for Ubuntu 22.04 is still buggy, please wait until SOGo team fixes it.

I reported this issue yesterday:
https://bugs.sogo.nu/view.php?id=5698

Re: Can't Get SOGo Repo on Ubuntu 22.04

Maybe another six months to get it fixed.
It seems "Sogo team" is now made of 1 person.. Is "Sogo" still a reliable project?

Re: Can't Get SOGo Repo on Ubuntu 22.04

It's a SOGo apt repo issue, many packages are missing in apt repo for Ubuntu 22.04:
https://packages.sogo.nu/nightly/5/ubun … my/s/sope/

Compare it with repo for 22.04:
https://packages.sogo.nu/nightly/5/ubun … al/s/sope/

Re: Can't Get SOGo Repo on Ubuntu 22.04

This repo issue happened few days ago, didn't expect to last for so many days.
Anyway, i reported it to SOGo team moment ago:
https://bugs.sogo.nu/view.php?id=5707

Re: Can't Get SOGo Repo on Ubuntu 22.04

We will release new iRedMail version soon (1.6.3 maybe) with SOGo enabled on Ubuntu 22.04.

- If you already have iRedMail installed and running, you have to install and configure SOGo manually.
- Or, wait for our upcoming new product "iRedMail Pro". It combines iRedMail installer + iRedMail Easy + iRedAdmin-Pro in one single binary program. FYI https://docs.iredmail.org/pro.html
